The success of a marketing campaign may either stand or fall according to what the headline says. The majority of all of your intended public may read only the headline and then make a decision on whether or not to continue reading your marketing message. It's of incredible importance to take proper care in crafting the right headline.

This one is pretty much self-explanatory but I'll go into a little bit further detail. These headlines appeal to the reader's self interest and are purely based on reader benefits. They offer people what they want and how they can get from you.

Take the headline of this article for example, "How the right headline can supercharge your internet marketing efforts- 3 proven ways". The headline offers 3 ways the reader can benefit by supercharging their internet marketing efforts using the right headline.

With this approach you just come right out and offer something that your target market wants and how you can provide it.

2- News headlines

This one is just using straightforward news headlines such as, "Internet marketing will see double-digit growth for the next four years"

3- Curiosity headlines

This is the third best type of headline behind Self Interest headlines (which is the best, by the way) and News headlines. Curiosity headlines appeal to a human being's sense of curiosity and their inquisitive nature. For example, the headline, "Are you doing the most effective kind of marketing for your website?".

Why are self-interest headlines the best and curiosity headlines the third-best?

Suppose your looking at a news website or major blog website, you see a headline that might arouse your curiosity and will read it if you have time. But if you see a headline that offers something that you want you'll most likely make time to read that article or blog post.
